April 1 flag-raising ceremony outside UW Oshkosh’s new Alumni Welcome and Conference Center

Two University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Advancement Division departments will move to offices on the second floor of the new Alumni Welcome and Conference Center (AWCC) next week.

The AWCC, which will serve as the University’s new “front door,” is located along the Fox River at the corner of Wisconsin Street and Pearl Avenue. The 22,000-square-foot facility opened to the public April 1.  The opening was marked by a flag-raising event.

Alumni Relations staff members are scheduled to move out of their current space in Pollock House and into the AWCC on Monday, April 7. Regular office operations are expected to resume on April 8.

The UW Oshkosh Foundation staff members are scheduled to move out of Oviatt House on Tuesday, April 8; with regular operations expected to resume on April 9.

The patience of visitors and the greater campus community is appreciated during this transition. Campus telephone numbers and email addresses for all staff members will remain the same.

Pollock House will continue to house the University Studies Program.

In late April, UW Oshkosh’s Business Success Center will also move into the AWCC, relocating from its current offices at 549 High Ave., Oshkosh.

The AWCC will now serve as a home away from home for UW Oshkosh’s 83,000-plus alumni. The contemporary, high-quality conference facility offers a 500-person ballroom with picturesque, floor-to-ceiling windows, a 38-person executive board room with state-of-the art technology, an outside patio with gas fire pit, onsite catering, hearing loop technology, free wireless internet and ample free parking among other amenities.

Plans are underway to celebrate the AWCC’s Grand Opening on Friday, May 16.
