University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Chancellor Richard Wells issued the following statement regarding the appointment of Ray Cross as the next President of the University of Wisconsin System.
“The Board of Regents’ selection of Ray Cross as the next University of Wisconsin System President is excellent news. Ray is a highly accomplished, caring and deeply committed higher education leader. He will do a great job of leading the respectful transition from the Kevin Reilly presidency to a new UW System presidency. My University of Wisconsin Oshkosh colleagues and I look forward to working with Ray to continue to build upon the outstanding UW System legacy of proudly serving the people of Wisconsin and beyond.”
The UW System Board of Regents approved Cross’s appointment as the new UW System President on January 9. That followed the recommendation made by a selection committee.
Cross plans to step into the new leadership post in mid-February. More on Cross’s appointment and background is available HERE.
