’72 Marsha (Dorow) Lewis (N), of Williamsville, N.Y., was inducted as a fellow into the prestigious American Academy of Nursing during its 40th-annual meeting and conference.
’73 Albert Siu (LS), of Carlisle, Mass., received the Distinguished Education Alumni Award from Purdue University College, where he earned his doctorate in counseling psychology.
’76 Mary (Wellnitz) Pahnke (EHS) and ’94 (MSE), of Fond du Lac, has retired from the Fond du Lac school district as an art teacher and high school counselor. In her spare time, she focuses on her artwork and has been a featured artist at Gallery & Frame Shop, during Tour the Town Art Walk.
’77 Raymond Vonrotz (LS), of Ashland City, Tenn., returned to his roots in Fond du Lac to play at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts with top Nashville band, Paul Kramer and Swing Street.
’80 Leo Liegeois (B), of Green Bay, has accepted a position with Promotional Design as vice president of marketing.
’81 Patti (Andresen) Shew (EHS) and ’92 (MBA), of Oshkosh, has been hired by the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce as the new education and workforce coordinator.
’83 Patrick Shanley (LS), of New Berlin, has accepted the position of regional sales manager at Standard Process for the Midwest region.
’84 Daniel DeBehnke (LS), of Hartland, has been named chief executive officer of Medical College of Physicians Group and senior associate dean for Clinical Affairs.
’90 Robert Halfmann (LS), of Scandinavia, has been named the new personnel director for Jackson County.
’90 Michael Popke (LS), of Sun Prairie, is the owner of a new business called Two Lakes Media Group.
’93 Mary Kurer (EHS), of West Bend, is the continuing education director at UW-Washington County. She also is the executive director of the West Bend Economic Development Corporation.
’95 Jacalyn LaBre (LS), of Mount Pleasant, has been named the new district attorney for Manitowoc County.
’96 Josephine Benkers (LS), of Deerfield, has been named to the 2013 Wisconsin Rising Stars list by Quarles & Brady LLP.
’99 Carla Harrison (LS) and (N), of Wisconsin Rapids, has been assigned to missionary work in Peru for the last 13 years, working as a head nurse in a medical clinic.
’96 Lee Prellwitz (LLCE) and ’99 (MBA), of Ripon, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Ripon Area School District.
’02 Nathan Olson (LS), of Oshkosh, owns his own practice, Olson Legal Group, and was nominated as a Rising Star in the field of law.
’04 Michael Evans (LS), of Neenah, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2004. He praises the results of an experimental drug that he’s been on since February 2011. One year after receiving the treatment, he went from 18 brain lesions to none.
’04 Kahlen Spaulding (EHS) and ’07 (MSE), of Mazomanie, is the new director of Pupil Services and Special Education in the Clintonville Public School District.
’08 Gregg Kadow (MPA), of Manitowoc, was named interim fire chief of the Manitowoc Fire Department.
’09 Aaron Cherney (B), of Sun Prairie, is an account executive at Graphic Packaging International, where he sells beverage packaging to craft breweries across the Midwest.
’09 Erin Donohoe (B), of Milwaukee, is the current private dining and events coordinator at Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery in downtown Milwaukee.
’11 Laurie Meidl (LS), of Flagstaff, Ariz., is working as a graduate assistant residence hall director in a freshmen connections hall at Northern Arizona University and pursuing a master’s degree in education counseling student affairs.
’11 Joshua Mueller (LS), of Murray, Utah, graduated with his master’s of art degree from Kansas State University and is pursuing a doctorate from the University of Utah.
’12 Mitchell DeNure (B), of Middleton, has joined Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C., a financial firm, as a staff accountant.
’13 Matthew Hanson (EHS), of Sturgeon Bay, took fourth place overall and first in his division for the World’s Toughest Mudder championship. He completed 19 laps for 95 miles and 420 obstacles with a total time of 24 hours and 40 minutes.
