Becky Thorson-Randall, a program assistant with the special education department in the College of Education and Human Services, has been named the recipient of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh July STAR Award.

Thorson-Randall was nominated by Stacey Skoning. Portions of her nomination follow:

“Becky Thorson-Randall has demonstrated superior skills and support of our department since her hiring. She assisted five chairs in five years as they learned the ins and outs of their new positions (with me being the fifth).

“Most recently, she has taken on the additional work of supporting our students in their new e-portfolio process. She worked with the developers of the system to ensure that it would meet the needs of our faculty and students, then developed training for the faculty and students in the Department of Special Education when she learned that no training was to be provided.

“Becky maintains a high level of professionalism in her daily interactions with all of us and does it with a smile. Our department would not be able to offer the quality programming and new initiatives we have undertaken without her.”

The CSAC Awards & Recognition Committee submitted this announcement. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
