Seen on campus: Demolition of NBC Village

By Jaslyn Gilbert 15 July 2010 3 Comments Print this story Print this story

Demolition begins on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Breese, Nelson and Clemans residence halls July 13, making way for the construction of a new suite-style residence hall for upperclassmen. The new residence hall, planned to meet platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards and featuring many green elements, will open in fall 2012.

Is this the only shot of the demolition? Is anyone shooting photos for (silly, I know) the historic value? One would think that, in this day and age, such a major change to the campus would warrant a web-cam.

I’m a ‘75 grad from UW-O who lived 3 years in Breese Hall. Still have great memories if the upper class dorm. Sorry to hear its being torn down, but progress hurts and helps. GOODBYE BREESE.
