See progress of the construction of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s academic building, slated to open in fall 2011. The center, which will be the first new academic building on campus since 1971, will be home to administrative, faculty and program offices of the College of Business along with five departments and five programs of the College of Letters and Science. By incorporating renewable energy sources and sustainable principals, the project, designed for a gold LEED rating from the U.S. Green Building Council, is expected to save the University more than $182,000 annually.

This building is the most environmentally friendly building on campus. The lighting will be almost all natural lighting, there will be windows for sun to come in, to heat the building. A lot of the reasons the campus will save money is because this building is so environmentally friendly, and one of the Clow lecture halls will be taken out, which will save in heating because those rooms were so ridiculously cold, even when they WERE heated.
