University of Wisconsin Oshkosh alumni can enjoy a full calendar of events this summer, including the first-ever alumni day at Oshkosh’s Waterfest.

“Our goal is to offer alumni easy and convenient ways to be involved with their alma mater throughout the year, even during the busy summer months,” said UW Oshkosh Alumni Director Christine Gantner. “We are delighted to collaborate with so many community partners and to showcase some of the area’s finest venues.”

The slate of events kicks off Saturday, June 26, with a free day (10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) for UW Oshkosh alumni at the Oshkosh Public Museum, 1331 Algoma Blvd. Alumni receive free admission, a $7 value, to see the new “Sherlock Holmes and the Clocktower Mystery” exhibit.

On Thursday, July 15, UW Oshkosh alumni are invited to watch an evening of minor league baseball as the Timber Rattlers take on the Lansing Lugnuts at 7:05 p.m. at the Fox Cities Stadium. Enjoy an all-you-can eat picnic buffet with bratwurst, hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, two beverages each and more, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the third-base side picnic deck.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $16 for children 10 and younger. (Children 3 and younger will be admitted for free, but they must sit on parent’s lap). To reserve tickets by July 1, send check payable to the UW Oshkosh Foundation to University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Alumni Relations Office, Pollock Alumni House, 800 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, WI 54901, or call (877) 896-2586 or (920) 424-3449 to pay by credit card. Please include the names of those attending and your mailing address as tickets will be mailed to you prior to the event, co-hosted by the UW Oshkosh Learning in Retirement group.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 17, Oshkosh’s Paine Art Center and Gardens at 1410 Algoma, Blvd., welcomes alumni for a free day, during the gallery’s “Norman Rockwell: American Imagist” exhibition. This alumni benefit is a $9 value.

The first UWO alumni free night at Waterfest will be held Thursday, Aug. 19, at Leach Amphitheater, Riverside Park, Oshkosh. Enjoy Mardi Gras on the Fox with musical acts Alex McMurray, Paul Sanchez and The Rolling Road Show, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Shamarr Allen and The Underdawgs, The Tin Men and the Susan Cowsill Band.
