The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, in partnership with the Oshkosh YMCA, is proud to announce that the J. J. Keller Foundation has become the title sponsor of the Oshkosh Community Dragonboat Race and Festival, a component of the University’s Fall Fest on the Fox weekend, funding $10,000 toward the event.

Fall Fest on the Fox begins Friday, Sept. 24, with the Dragonboat Race and Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Leach Amphitheater near downtown Oshkosh.

“The J. J. Keller Foundation takes pride in supporting our community, and when I was approached with the opportunity to sponsor the Oshkosh Community Dragonboat Race and Festival, I was excited to be a part of this great, community-focused event,” said J. J. Keller Foundation Director Brian Keller.

In addition to becoming the title sponsor for the event, J. J. Keller also will match the donation, up to $2,500, of any new business or organization that steps forward to sponsor the community event.

Since 2006, The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the Oshkosh YMCA have created a tradition for community members through the Dragonboat Race & Festival. This event is held during the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Fall Fest weekend and welcomes thousands of community members to participate in a celebration that strives to promote education, family, culture and Oshkosh waterways. Proceeds from this event are donated to the Oshkosh YMCA Strong Kids Fund and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Dragonboat Scholarship, a scholarship that benefits any Winnebago County resident who would like to receive a higher education, but may be financially incapable.

Community members and businesses are invited to join the elite group of sponsors to help improve education and health in Oshkosh. To sponsor, visit www.uwosh.edu/fallfest for details.
