More than 1,200 undergraduate and more than 160 master’s degree candidates will become graduates of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Saturday, May 11.

The 139th spring commencement ceremonies will be held at Kolf Sports Center. Two ceremonies will be held — the 9 a.m. ceremony will include the College of Letters and Science and the Division of Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement; the 2 p.m. ceremony will include the College of Business, College of Education and Human Services and the College of Nursing. Each ceremony will last about two hours, tickets are not needed.

UW Oshkosh Chancellor Richard H. Wells will confer diplomas to the graduating students. State Senator Rick Gudex and Tim Higgins of the UW System Board of Regents will participate in the morning ceremony; State Representative Gordon Hintz and Regent José Vasquez will particate in the afternoon ceremony. A reception for faculty, new alumni and their parents and guests will be held following each ceremony in Kolf’s lower level.

Anthony Miller, of Milwaukee, who is graduating with a major in communication, is the student speaker for the morning ceremony. Ben Lepak, of Custer, who is graduating with a major in human resource management, is the student speaker for the afternoon ceremony. Faculty speakers include Tracy Slagter, assistant political science professor, and Rachelle Landcaster, assistant nursing professor.
