For veterans at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, fly tying  is an opportunity to both gather with like-minds and focus on a task.

Coordinated by the UW Oshkosh Veterans Resource Center and in partnership with Project Healing Waters, a fly tying workshop was held weekly throughout much of the spring semester to give campus veterans an opportunity to try something new and simultaneously therapeutic.

Project Healing Waters is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education and outings. Currently, more than 100 programs like the one hosted at UW Oshkosh this semester have been established throughout the United States and Canada; the program at UW Oshkosh is one of the first to be held in a university setting.
