University of Wisconsin Oshkosh alumni will board a luxurious steamboat today for a seven-night voyage through April 28 in the antebellum South as part of an Alumni Association-sponsored travel package.

The travel opportunities are among the many benefits of graduating from UW Oshkosh. Following the antebellum South cruise, alumni will be heading overseas in the fall to Italy for a seven-night “Italian Inspiration” luxury cruise from Oct. 17-25, traveling to remarkable cities like as Rome, Sorrento and Venice.

The Alumni Association offers these travel programs as well as numerous events and activities annually to Oshkosh alumni in hopes they remain connected to their alma mater no matter where they live across the nation and around the world.

“We offer the alumni travel program as an opportunity for alums to travel with reputable travel companies to diverse places and enjoy a group rate,” said UWO Alumni Director Christine Gantner. “As a bonus, travelers get to meet fellow alumni as well as alums from other UW Systems schools.”

There are still many travel opportunities to take this coming year. The Alumni Association is offering an Alaskan Adventures Cruise August 5-12, a seven-night stay beginning in Seattle, Wash. and coasting through Wrangell and Sitka, Alaska.

“With such an outstanding ship and popular itinerary, this cruise will fill up quickly,” Gantner said. “Space is limited, so you are encouraged to sign up now for your preferred stateroom or suite.”

Another West Coast adventure will be taking place Sept. 9-16. This travel opportunity allows alumni to explore Seattle, Wash. and head south, stopping at Portland, Ore. and San Francisco, Calif. This is an eight-day tour with the opportunity to explore historic cities and national parks, including one of America’s greatest volcanic eruptions at Mount St. Helens.

The Alumni Association also is offering a family trip to Costa Rica Dec. 28–Jan. 4. The “Costa Rica Family Adventure” allows alumni to explore San Jose, the Tortuguero National Park, Sarapiqui and Arenal, Costa Rica with their families. This eight-day trip includes activities, such as rafting, zip lining and exploring national parks and volcanoes.

Booking rates for the family adventures are valid until June 28, 2013. For more information about any of these spectacular opportunities, contact Alumni Relations at alumni@uwosh.edu, (920) 424-3449 or online.
