On Feb. 22, the UW Oshkosh Small Business Development Center (SBDC) relocated to 549 High Ave. Part of the College of Business, the SBDC is one of 12 campus assistance centers that, along with three specialty research centers, form the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center Network.

The center provides free business counseling services and low-cost management training to entrepreneurs and businesses with up to 500 employees in Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Outagamie, Sheboygan, Waushara and Winnebago counties. One of its clients, Jeff LeDuc, recently was named as one of 50 finalists in the 2010 Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest.

The SBDC has worked with several UW Oshkosh faculty members and students to start their own businesses or explore the possibility of commercializing new product and service ideas. The UW Oshkosh SBDC is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the University of Wisconsin Extension.
