University Honors Program students at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will present the highlights from their senior thesis projects Dec. 16 in room 227C of Reeve Memorial Union. The schedule is as follows:

4 p.m.

  • Kylie McGowan — “Mountain Men and Wandering Women: Gender and Narrative in Three Arctic Journeys” (adviser: Marguerite Helmers, English department).
  • Amanda Krohn — “Proactive Risk Management for Student Activities Event Planning at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh” (advisers: Stan Sweeney, assistant director, Student Leadership and Involvement Center, and Charles Lindsey, College of Education and Human Services).

5:30 p.m.

  • Shane Bierma — “Death and Altruism: Examining the Effect of Mortality Salience on Helping of Those with Dissimilar Worldviews” (adviser: David Lishner, psychology department).
  • Jordan Clark-Mand — “Public Relation’s Role within Division III Collegiate Competition: How Should Coaches Focus Their Restricted Resources to Better Use PR?” (advieor: Miles Maguire, journalism department).
  • Emory Elbe — “Shooting a Rock Star: The Making of an Independent Short Film” (adviser: Troy Perkins, communication department).
