Athletics Business selected the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) as a 2009 Facility of Merit.

The $21-million, 104,000-square-foot SRWC, which opened in 2007, features options for health and wellness, including a climbing wall, three basketball courts, free-weight theater, a multipurpose gym for soccer and floor hockey, a walking and jogging track, cardio center and a Cyber Café, which offers healthy food options. The facility was funded through student segregated fees.

Designed by Cannon Design in association with Potter-Lawson, the SRWC features numerous sustainable feature, achieving the equivalent of a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver rating.

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Petra Roter will accept the award at the Athletic Business’s annual conference.
