The storybook season for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Titans football team came to an end on Dec. 8, a game short of a shot at the national championship.

A week after traveling across the country to Oregon defeat No. 3 ranked Linfield College on that team’s home field, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Titans football team fell to an equally-tough University of St. Thomas squad on its home turf 28-14 Saturday, Dec. 8 in the semifinal-round game of the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

Despite battling back, the Titans, champions of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, couldn’t overcome a 21-0 deficit early in the first half.

It was an unbelievable run for the Titans football squad. The season was full of thrilling wins, from the defeat of national champions the UW-Whitewater in the powerhouse Warhawks’ homecoming game to an incredible overtime victory in McMinnville, Ore. over Linfield – the win that qualified the Titans for a shot at the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Va., home of the championship matchup on Friday, Dec. 14.

Congratulations to the Titans on a historic season! Catch more on the semifinal game and a storied season at our UW Oshkosh Athletics site.
