Whether considering graduate school now or in the future, the upcoming GradSchool Fest open house can provide helpful information about advanced degree programs at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
GradSchool Fest, an event that occurs each spring and fall, will be held Nov. 15 at Reeve Memorial Union Ballroom A from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
“Grad School Fest is a great opportunity to explore the wide variety of graduate programs offered at UW Oshkosh,” said Susan Cramer, graduate studies dean at UW Oshkosh. “Graduate program coordinators, program faculty and graduate students attend so you can speak to people in person and get a flavor for the available programs.”
UW Oshkosh Graduate Studies offers more than 30 master’s degree, certificate and doctoral degree programs. GradSchool Fest aims to provide information about the programs as well as information about getting into graduate school, including information on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Plus, faculty and staff from the programs will be on site to answer questions.
“Meeting the people associated with Graduate Studies makes the whole process less mysterious and monumental. Everyone is so friendly and positive,” Cramer said.
Katie Geis is excited about the opportunities a master’s degree will eventually provide her with, she said. Geis is currently pursuing a master’s degree in educational leadership at UW Oshkosh.
“Attending grad school has given me the opportunity to continue my education in a program I otherwise would not be able to obtain in the undergraduate level. I want to work with students in a college/university setting,” she said. “In order to get the dream job I want I continued my education into a master’s program.”
This year, the Graduate Studies office at UW Oshkosh is celebrating 50 years of graduating students. Today, there are more than 13,000 UW Oshkosh graduate degree holders.
