The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce honored Chancellor Richard Wells with its Alberta S. Kimball Community Service Award at the organizations’ Annual Meeting and Recognition Program on Monday, Oct. 29.

Chancellor Wells was not in attendance, however, in the video below, he accepts the award on behalf of, and in tribute to, the University’s and community’s many successful, transformative collaborations over the years, most recently the initiative beginning to revitalize Oshkosh’s downtown, riverfront hotel and convention center.

The Chamber, in bestowing the award, also cited the University’s other successful sustainable energy and expansion projects championed with Wells’ leadership, including the development of the western hemisphere’s first dry fermentation anaerobic biodigester, the shared Oshkosh Sports Complex and the construction of new UW Oshkosh academic, student-recreation and residence hall facilities.
