A free screening of the documentary film, “FEAT: 63 Marathons in 63 Days,” produced by University of Wisconsin Oshkosh alumni,  is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Reeve Memorial Union, Room 307.

The 102-minute film chronicles endurance runner Tim Borland’s quest to run 63 marathons in 63 days in support of children with ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T), a rare genetic disease that strikes in early childhood and combines the symptoms of cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and cancer.

“I’m very excited to come back to UWO and show this film,” said Deborah Carr ’00, who produced the film along with her husband, Bradley Carr ’01. “It has been a real passion project. My hope is that this film will provide some context for the struggles A-T kids and families face.”

In 2007, Borland ran 63 consecutive marathons, at 26.2 miles apiece, in 63 communities where A-T children live. Along the way, the filmmakers introduce audiences to three families whose children have A-T, including the Mark and Laura Lesperance family, of Neenah.

Deborah Carr served as director and producer of FEAT, while Bradley Carr was the cinematographer and producer. Deborah received UW Oshkosh’s prestigious Outstanding Young Alumni award in 2006. The couple met at UW Oshkosh, where they both majored in radio/TV/film.
