University of Wisconsin Oshkosh residence hall community advisers, hall directors, assistant hall directors and other Residence Life staff volunteered throughout the Oshkosh community Aug. 27 during the University’s 13th-annual Citizenship Day.

“Through citizenship opportunities we hope to help students develop a greater sense of civic responsibility and gain an understanding of the different cultures within our community,” said Theresa Schneider, Student/Leadership Development Specialist for the Department of Residence Life.

UW Oshkosh students contribute $2.5 million annually to charity and an estimated 52,000 hours of volunteer time valued at more than $3 million.
