Flags will be flown at half-staff at UW Oshkosh from sunrise to sunset on Friday, Dec. 7 as a mark of respect for the 3,000 Americans who were killed or wounded as a result of their service at Pearl Harbor.

Congress designated Dec. 7 of each year, the anniversary of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The President urges that the flag be flown at half-staff in honor of these fallen soldiers.

Therefore, Gov. Jim Doyle has directed that all U.S. and Wisconsin flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings, grounds and military installations.
