Diane Kromm, chemistry department academic associate, has been named recipient of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh August 2012 STAR Award.

Kromm was nominated by Jennifer Mihalick, Leigh Ann Mrotek and Nadeja Kaltcheva. Portions of her nomination submission follow:

“In the last two years Diane Kromm has been a great help to three new department chairs. Diane is the ADA for Chemistry, and also enters the Department of Physics and Astronomy’s teaching schedules into TitanWeb. In the past two academic years both departments had new chairs who needed training on scheduling. Last summer when Kinesiology lost its ADA, Diane temporarily added their projects to her workload, going beyond her normal job responsibilities. Working with Kinesiology’s new department chair she built classes in TitanWeb, hired student employees and purchased a great variety of supplies (including a great deal of medical supplies ordered by the athletic training program).

“Diane was always available for questions and helped much more than expected. We depend on her organizational skills, software expertise and attention to detail. We appreciate the exceptional support Diane provides to our academic programs.”

The CSAC Awards & Recognition Committee submitted this announcement. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
