The squawks were those of two young peregrine falcons that were being banded for future identification purposes. The young male falcons – named Thor and Thunder – will grow up to be among the fastest birds on the planet, said Greg Septon, peregrine falcon manager and researcher.

For the second year in a row, two adult falcons, Hondo and Deborah, made a nesting box atop Gruenhagen their home and in late April Thor and Thunder were welcomed into the world – and to UW Oshkosh!
