Forget the cliches about April showers and flowers, spring time means business. Tax business.

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue is encouraging college students to get those taxes filed. Online filing is available. State taxes are due by April 17.

Meanwhile, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) will, once again, offer free tax help to individuals and families. University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business accounting students participate in the tax assistance program.

VITA is a partnership between the UW Oshkosh College of Business, Winnebago County UW Extension, the Oshkosh Area United Way, Fox Valley Technical College, the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry and St. Vincent de Paul. The program is offered through April 13. Learn more here.
