The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh won six events, with three repeat winners, to defend its title at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24 and 25 in Menomonie.

The Titans captured their 13th indoor championship with 152 points. UW-Eau Claire finished second with 121 points, while UW-La Crosse placed third with 108, UW-Whitewater fourth with 84 and UW-Stevens Point fifth with 67. UW-River Falls ranked sixth with 60 points, UW-Stout seventh with 52, UW-Platteville eighth with 43 and UW-Superior ninth with 15.

Christy Cazzola (Jr. • Kaukauna) took first place in two races and ran on UW Oshkosh’s victorious distance medley relay team. Cazzola successfully defended titles in the 800-meter run and mile run by recording times of 2:14.53 and 4:56.28, respectively.

In the distance medley relay, Cazzola, Katelyn Brooks (Fr. • Winneconne), Tori Johnson (Jr. • Valders) and Rachel Westover (Fr. • South Milwaukee) posted a winning time of 12:29.52.

The other UW Oshkosh competitor to repeat as champion was Danielle Carrigan (Sr. • Waukesha) in the pole vault. She won the event with a height of 12-4.

UW Oshkosh’s list of winners concluded with Alexia Child (Sr. • Lake Geneva) in the 20-pound weight throw and Breanna Strupp (So. • Slinger) in the shot put. Child marked a distance of 61-2 1/4 while Strupp tallied a measurement of 48-4 1/2 to remain unbeaten in her last seven indoor meets.
