The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’71  Oscar Reyes (LS) owns Reyes Consulting in Fond du Lac.  The firm offers Spanish language interpretation, translation and bilingual human resources consulting.  2-1-09

’71 Jeffrey Stang (B) and Sandra (Markofski) Stang 71(EHS) both retired in 2008. Jeff had spent the last nineteen years as a financial executive with the Trek Bicycle Corp headquartered in Waterloo, Wisc. Sandra, after a first career as a high school spanish teacher in Menomonee Falls, had spent the last eleven years as a physical therapist for Waukesha Memorial Hospital. They just moved to their new winter home in The Villages, Fla. 2-1-09

’73 Sandra (Clark) Freres (EHS) has been named the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association state Athletic Director of the Year. She had been selected the District VII Athletic Director of the Year, then was chosen over six other district honorees for the state award, and is only the second woman to receive the award. 2-1-09.

’79 James (Jim) Bernhagen (LS) and ’90 (MS) retired from Waupaca County as the Finance Director, after 20 years of service. 2-1-09

’80 Kevin Cosgrove (EHS) is the University of Minnesota Gopher’s co-defensive coordinator. He has thirteen seasons of experience as an NCAA Division 1 defensive coordinator and 28 seasons of collegiate coaching experience, and was also inducted into the Wisconsin Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2008. 2-1-09

’82 Tammy (T.J.) Bloechl-Rutherford (LS) is assistant editor and web manager at Savannah Magazine. She is in her second year of graduate school at Savannah State University in Georgia. 2-1-09

’85 Julianne (Klemm) Smith (LS) graduated with honors from Gateway Technical College in May of 2007 with a nursing degree. She is employed by Wheaton Fransican Healthcare/All Saints hospital in Racine, Wisc. 2-1-09

’90 Joseph Konop (LS) is president of the Milwaukee chapter of the business marketing association (BMA) for 2009-10. BMA is the largest professional marketing association in Southeast Wisc. and third largest chapter in the country. 2-1-09

’92 Mary Downs (MS) and ’94 (MSE) is the executive director for ThedaCare Behavioral Health. 2-1-09

’95 Lori Weisse (N) is an instructor and the department head of the medical assistant program at the Fox Valley Technical College Waupaca Regional Center. 2-1-09

’98 Michael Salutz (MBA) is chief financial officer for Nemschoff, a company in Sheboygan that has provided healthcare furniture for over fifty years. 2-1-09

’01  Randy Reysen (EHS), a social studies/sociology teacher at West Bend West High School received the 2008 Rolfs Foundation Award for excellence in teaching. 2-1-09

’02 Beverly Britt (N) has been promoted to the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force. She was stationed at the Freedom Hospital in Kirkuk, Iraq from January-May 2008 and is currently stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.  2-1-09

’04 Becky (Stark) Geppert (LS) graduated in December, 2008 from UW-Milwaukee with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and an emphasis in Gerontology. She is working for Waukesha County Health and Human Services. 2-1-09

’05 Melissa Hunt (LS) is a community development specialist for the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation. She will provide community development services for the Village of North Fond du Lac, City of Ripon, and City of Waupun. 2-1-09

’06 Matthew Wanta (N) recently obtained his certified legal nursing consulting license and formed his own business for legal medical consulting.  He is also a wide float/resource nurse in Ridgecrest, Calif. and  a clinical instructor and lead teacher for the medical assistant course at Cerro Cosso College. 2-1-09

 

’08 Stacey Gusman (MSN) is a family nurse practitioner for the Victory Medical Group in the Stanley and Owen clinics in Owen, Wisc. 2-1-09

’08 Ryan Barkow (LS) is a Revenue Officer for the Internal Revenue Service. 2-1-09
