Nothing says democracy like a dunk tank… and cupcakes… and, of course (quite literally), the U.S. Constitution.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s American Democracy Project recognized Sept. 17’s Constitution Day on Sept. 16, 2011.

Supporters handed out free copies of the U.S. Constitution to students, students read the document aloud outside Reeve Memorial Union, hosts offered patriotic cupcakes and ADP members featured a Constitution trivia dunk tank.

Exposing students to the Constitution is part of a federal mandate. ADP annually uses the rule to creatively engage the campus community in reflecting on the meaning of freedom, liberty and civic engagement in a democracy.
