Some of them were only in third grade when the attacks took place.

Others were on the job,  oblivious to the horrors and heroism taking place in New York, Washington D.C. and a farm field in Pennslyvania.

Several remember their grade school classes being interrupted as teachers grappled to responsibly explain the enormity of what was happening on live TV.

UW Oshkosh Today reached out to several University of Wisconsin Oshkosh students on Sept. 8 and asked them to share some memories and reflections on the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 as the 10-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks approached.
