The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) department and student radio station WRST, 90.3 FM, have developed two on-the-air segments to spread the word about campus news and events.

The IMC news team, working with Randall Davidson, director of radio services and faculty adviser for WRST, began broadcasting a campus/community calendar and “UWO in 60,” a one-minute summary of the University’s top stories of the week.

The calendar segment includes events from UW Oshkosh Today’s public events calendar as well as a variety of happenings in Oshkosh and the surrounding communities compiled by Davidson. It airs daily at 4:20 p.m.

“UWO in 60” features excerpts from a handful of UW Oshkosh Today headlines, referring listeners to the Web site (www.uwosh.edu/news) for more details. It airs daily at 7 p.m. and potentially throughout the day.

Additionally, IMC and WRST are exploring new ways to incorporate student-generated news stories online and on the air.
