The city of Oshkosh issued the following release July 15 regarding the closure of High Avenue through the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus:

(Oshkosh, WI.) The city of Oshkosh would like to notify residents that High Avenue from Congress Avenue to Wisconsin Street will be closed to through traffic beginning July 18th, 2011. Access to local businesses and residents will be maintained and a detour route will be posted.

The detour is Congress Avenue to Algoma Boulevard to Murdock Avenue to Jackson Street to Irving Avenue to Wisconsin Street back to High Avenue. High Avenue will have one lane open for the week of EAA’s AirVenture (July 25 through July 31).

The proposed work includes spot repairs to sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main, sidewalk and curb and gutter. The existing asphalt surface will be milled off and a new asphalt surface will be placed. Work is scheduled to be completed by the middle of September.
