From a  photovoltaic array near its tennis courts to the stately panels atop its campus power plant, evidence of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s committment to solar energy is everywhere on campus.

The sun’s energy heats Albee Hall’s swimming pool and the dishwashing water at Blackhawk Commons. From the street, passersby see the peaks of solar panels on top of several campus buildings, including Sage Hall, the university’s new academic center set to open this September.

UW Oshkosh Director of Facilities Management Steve Arndt discusses the prominence and value of harvesting solar energy as summer begins turns up the heat on campus.
