The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha women’s fraternity collected over 10,000 Yoplait pink lids fall 2010.

ZTA teamed up with the UW Oshkosh Women’s Center to place collection bins around campus and in department lounges. They also collected lids at the Milwaukee Race for the Cure, which they volunteer at every year.

The international office of ZTA puts on a competition every year to see how many lids each chapter can collect. The women from UW Oshkosh were proud to finish eighth out of  155 collegiate ZTA chapters from all around the nation.

For every lid that is collected, Yoplait donates $.10 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. ZTA partners with Yoplait to support their philanthropy, breast cancer education and awareness. ZTA also teams up with Susan G. Komen, NFL, Lifetime Television and SELF Magazine to raise awareness for breast cancer throughout the year.

Haley Kas, Zeta Tau Alpha, submitted this announcement. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
