The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh welcomed Sharon Kipetz, the new assistant vice chancellor for student engagement and success/dean of students in the division of student affairs, to campus on March 22. Kipetz was chosen out of 40 applicants, and she will be in charge of shaping a community that promotes excellence in learning, academic success and personal growth.

University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has received $26,200 from UW System Office of Professional and Instructional Development for Senior SOTL Scholar Learning Community: Investigating Inclusive Excellence. Lori Carrell, communication director of CETL, is the project director.

UW Oshkosh College of Business has received $95,038 from the U.S. Small Business Administration to fund its Small Business Development Center Network for the 2011 calendar year. Bob O’Donnell is the director of the UW Oshkosh Small Business Development Center, which provides counseling and training to businesses with up to 500 employees in a seven-county region of East Central Wisconsin.

UW Oshkosh has received $100,000 from the Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for year three of Campus Suicide Prevention Program. Shelly Rutz, Counseling Center, is the project director.
