The
UW-Oshkosh Swing Dance Club is a student organization located
on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus. The club
provides instruction in Lindy Hop (partnered), Charleston
(partnered),
Solo Charleston and swing aerials. Membership is open to all
UWO students, staff, alumni and friends. Membership and
participation are free of charge. Full membership may be
limited due to restrictions of space and time.
Members meet on a weekly basis for
lessons, social dance and performance practice. Full roster membership
requires a weekly commitment and an end-of-semester
performance commitment. Non-members are always welcome to
participate in beginner lessons and social dance as space
allows.
Toward the middle and later
portion of the academic semester, members spend time creating
and practicing group and pair routines. These routines are
featured at the club's end-of-semester charity dance.
The
UW-Oshkosh Swing Dance Club was founded in December 2008 by
Jake Pichelmeyer. |
