Assessment
AASHE STARS
The Campus Sustainability Plan recommends assessing sustainability initiatives. The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) has developed an online Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS). UW Oshkosh has been a member of AASHE since 2008, our staff assisted in piloting early prototypes of STARS, and UW Oshkosh was among the first universities in the country to sign up as a STARS Charter Participant.
STARS is based on quantitative and qualitative information about the campus, with equal weight to three areas: Education and Research; Operations; and Planning, Administration and Engagement.
