Project Success Personnel
Director, Karen Schmidt has a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from UW Oshkosh, and a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from UW Oshkosh.
Director Emeritus, Dr. William R. Kitz is the former director of Project Success. Dr. Kitz began working the program in 1980. He received his undergraduate degree from UW Oshkosh, his master's from UW Whitewater and his Ph.D. in special education from UW Madison.
Assistant Director, Jayme Reichenberger has a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from UW Oshkosh. Jayme has worked for the Project Success program as a content tutor and Program Assistant since 2009.
Program Manager, Lacey Fenrich has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Ripon College. Lacey is responsible for organizing office materials and procedures for student support services and accommodations. Lacey has been working with Project Success since October 2012.
Educational Assistant, Ashley Lewandowaki has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Leadership from UW Oshkosh. Ashley entered the Project Success Summer Program in 2009 and as an active student was able to work as a student employee until taking an internship in 2013. She graduated in August of 2013 and was hired on as the Program Assistant until accepting the Educational Assistant position in November 2013.
Reading Specialist, Sue Ponto has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from St. Norbert College and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Western Michigan University. She received her Orton-Gillingham training at the Specialized Language Development Center in Kalamazoo Michigan.
Graduate Assistant, Graduate assistants perform a variety of important duties for Project Success including those of organizational tutors, supplemental instruction specialists, counselors, and testing/assessment assistants. Our graduate assistant for 2014-2015 is Samantha Lagina. Sam is in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Department of Professional Counseling master's program.
Tutoring staff. Each year Project Success hires approximately 20 student tutors to tutor in the areas of mathematics, Spanish and English . All Project Success tutors must have strong academic skills.
