GREETINGS!
Whether you are new to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Community or returning, we hope you are full of high expectations for the academic year ahead of you.  Our University is a community of learning.  Opportunities for involvement abound whether you are participating in class, collaborating with a professor on research, active in a club or organization, taking part in intramural or intercollegiate sports, theatre or making music.  Take advantage of the learning opportunities which surround you here at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

As a University, we share a series of Governing Ideas that describe our ideals, values, and directions.  Engagement, continuous learning, the student-faculty relationship, freedom and responsibility, and quality are at the core of these ideas.  I urge you to read them at www.uwosh.edu/strategic/govideas/govideasmission.html.

The 2006-2007 Student Handbook has been designed to provide you with information about the range of activities and resources available to you as a student as well as access to important policies and procedures.  It is important to become familiar with the information listed in this Student Handbook and the Student Disciplinary Code.  Extra copies are available in the Dean of Students Office, Reeve Union, Polk Library and the Residence Life office.  The Student Discipline Code is also available on-line at http://www.tts.uwosh.edu/dean/studentdisciplinecode.html.

I hope you have a successful year at UW Oshkosh.

Warmly,

Petra Roter, Ph.D.
