Wisconsin Youth Leadership Academy
Join us for a year-long leadership experience for high school students.
June 16–21, 2013 in Wautoma, Wis.
The Wisconsin Youth Leadership Academy will identify, recruit and train a new generation of ethical leaders who will inspire character, civility and community in Wisconsin and beyond. WYLA serves "Hidden Heroes" — disadvantaged and diverse youth who are often overlooked by traditional leadership programs. WYLA students learn practical skills that empower themselves and others to be effective agents of positive social change, while they serve as exemplary role models in their communities and schools.
Develop the skills and confidence you need to make positive changes in your life, in your school and your community.
WYLA is leadership now and for a lifetime!
Working with youth-serving organizations throughout Wisconsin, WYLA welcomes young people (current 9th and 10th-graders) from diverse backgrounds to join us on their leadership mission..
WYLA intentionally seeks to bring together diverse students from a variety of ethnic, racial, economic and religious backgrounds. Our students will come from rural, urban and suburban areas and will display openness to hearing and learning from each other’s stories. WYLA believes that we are strong because of our differences and will help students build a better future by exploring today’s challenges from a variety of perspectives.
