Homecoming. Mark Dendy. Part 1
Description
Choreographer Mark Dendy creates high energy modern dance. This program documents his return to Performance Space 122 in New York City in 2002, the theater where he launched his career, and features his signature work, Beat (1986) which was filmed specially for Charles Dennis' feature length film Homecoming - A Celebration of 20 Years of Dance at P.S. 122. Beat combines athletic movement with unusual vocal sounds to make a powerful original statement. Also featured in the program is an excerpt from a 1984 solo and an interview with the artist.
