Electricity Generation. Renewables
Description
The drive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions means that many governments are trying to decarbonise electricity generation. But some renewables only generate electricity when conditions are right; they are also location-dependent and often face opposition from local residents. From wind, to solar, biomass, HEP, tidal and geothermal power-as well as explaining how different renewables are used to generate electricity, this video examines the pros and cons of each energy source. Used together with the "Electricity Generation: Non-Renewables" video, it will encourage students to consider whether 100% renewable electricity is realistic.
