Ecologist Bjorn Lomborg's Top 10 Challenges the World Faces
Description
Bjorn Lomborg-a Danish writer, Copenhagen Business School adjunct professor, director of the Copenhagen Consensus Centre, and former director of the Environmental Assessment Institute in Copenhagen-speaks to a Reason Weekend audience about solving the world's problems. He lists 10 challenges the world faces and suggests a practical approach by setting personal preferences aside and prioritizing in order to get "the biggest bang for your buck"-an idea he refined by surveying economists on how to do the most good with limited amounts of money, and measuring costs and benefits of different solutions. In this presentation he looks at two examples-world hunger and global warming-and proposes solutions.
