Description
This program explores the life and works of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, who is most famous for his depiction of the darker side of Parisian life at the turn of the century from concert halls and cabarets to brothels. As a result of his popular and prolific graphic work, Toulouse-Lautrec is often described as the first great modern poster designer. Works examined in this program include: Count Alphonse de Toulouse-Lautrec, Hangover: The Drinker,Ballet de Papa Chrysantheme, In the Rue des Moulins Salon, The Milliner, and Examination at the Faculty of Medicine.
