Blood On The Ice
Description
The controversy surrounding the hunting of baby seals dates back to the mid-1960s. It all starts with a documentary that seeks to draw attention to the fate of the seals. Bloody excerpts from the film are aired on television, causing a public outcry. This documentary tells the story of the baby seal hunt controversy. Although the hunt is banned in 1987, animal rights organizations continue to build on its emotional impact. Greenland seals are at all-time highs. However, they are now facing an even greater threat: the pack ice on which they breed is on the verge of disappearing as a result of global warming.
