Moyers & Company. How Dollarocracy Is Destroying America
Description
There are no two ways about it: democracy is under siege. In this edition of Moyers & Company, John Nichols and Robert McChesney-the founding figures of the media reform movement Free Press-join Bill to discuss their latest book, Dollarocracy: How the Money and Media Election Complex Is Destroying America. "Democracy means rule of the people, one person, one vote," McChesney says. " 'Dollarocracy' means the rule of the dollars. One dollar, one vote. Those with lots of dollars have lots of power. Those with no dollars have no power." Bill also talks with National Lawyers Guild Executive Director Heidi Boghosian about the illicit surveillance strategies used by the government and corporations to track us all.
