Scared of My Shadow
Description
We currently live in the safest time in recorded history. So why are we so obsessed with our children's safety? Troubled by his daily fears for his four-year-old daughter, filmmaker Mark Miller investigates our current media-induced culture of paranoia and its lasting effect on future generations. Themes include the role of media in public paranoia, changing patterns in parenting, anxiety based disease, public health, crime trends in rural and urban Canada, and adolescent development as well as violence towards, and by, young people.
