The Call of the Wild
Description
Jack London's The Call of the Wild, one of the finest wilderness novels ever written, is told entirely from the point of view of the dog Buck, a domesticated favorite in a wealthy California household who is stolen and brought to the far North to be a sled dog. This 1972 film adaptation, starring Charlton Heston, necessarily takes liberties with London's tale, while at the same time maintaining its essential atmosphere, particularly in its emphasis on the savagery of the frozen North. Also starring Raimund Harmstorf, Maria Rohm, and George Eastman.
