First Aid Emergencies. In the Community
Description
Whether it's on the street, inside a shopping mall, or even at a quiet park, accidents and injuries can occur without warning. This program looks at the types of injuries that often happen in a community, various factors that may be involved, and how those injuries should be treated. Viewers learn basic steps to perform in an emergency as well as the legal and moral aspects of first aid. Topics include fractures; dislocations; strains and sprains; neck, head and spinal injuries; hypothermia and hyperthermia; and CPR, or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (both hands-only and hand-and-mouth procedures). With clear verbal and visual information, the video presents typical scenarios in public places where immediate first aid intervention is required. Produced in Australia. Viewable/printable educational resources are available online.
