Arab Gulf States. Globe Trekker
Description
This Globe Trekker episode follows Megan McCormick into the Arab Gulf States, starting in the oil fields of Kuwait which were set alight and destroyed by the Iraqi army in 1990. She then joins a Liberation Day celebration before she is invited to stay with a Kuwaiti family camping in the desert. Making her way across the Arabian Gulf to the United Arab Emirates, Megan explores the exciting cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. She stays at the world famous Burj Al Arab hotel, goes abayya shopping, tees off at a unique desert golf course, and meets one of the most flamboyant sheiks in Arabia. She travels across the border into the beautiful country of Oman, where she goes swim-trekking in the Wadi Bani Khalid, cattle shopping in Nizwa, visits the mystical tomb of Job, and treks into the Empty Quarter, which is one million square miles of nothing but sand.
