Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. Globe Trekker

Description

This Globe Trekker video follows Megan McCormick through Queensland, Australia's second largest state whose 3,000 mile coastline borders the Great Barrier Reef. Her trip includes stops at various coastline surfer destinations, an encounter with local chef Gary Flynn, a tour of the wildlife on Fraser Island (the world's largest sandbar), a two-day yacht ride, a dive into Blue Pearl Bay, a tutorial on crocodile etiquette from the Barefooted Bushman, a lesson about the Great Barrier Reef from a marine biologist, a visit to the former center of the dangerous Japanese pearl trade, and a wild boar hunt. In the Magnetic Islands, Megan goes diving into the wreck of the Yongola, a passenger and cargo ship that was hit by a cyclone in 1911. She ends up at Lizard Island, a luxury resort close to one of the Great Barrier Reef's most amazing dive sites, the Cod Hole.
