Tourette's Syndrome
Description
Tourette syndrome is a bizarre neurological disorder that causes its sufferers to make involuntary movements and cries. It can ruin their social life and often gets them into trouble with the law. Doctors don't know how it is caused. There is no known cure, and the treatment can be worse than the disease. It would seem to be a terrible curse, but this program reveals how this strange condition also has a positive side. The world-famous neurologist and author Oliver Sacks has befriended Tourette sufferers and finds they often have remarkable artistic talent and intelligence.
