Sikhism. The Guru's Wisdom
Description
Over 500 years ago in what is now Pakistan a young man grew up in a community of both Muslims and Hindus. Deciding that "God is neither Hindu nor Muslim and the path to follow is God's," Guru Nanak went on to create a new religion based on honesty and social equality. This program offers a synopsis of Sikhism, with explanations of the Khalsa, the Five Ks, the Guru Granth Sahib, and of the symbols found inside the Gurdwara. The video also follows a young Sikh girl and her family as they celebrate Vaisakhi. Filmed on location in the UK and India.
